English Language Selection Help

Kliek op die woord 'Afrikaans' in die boonste regterkantste hoek om hierdie help bladsy in Afrikaans te sien.

We are currently in the process of translating all our pages into Afrikaans also. If you prefer to view your pages in English this translation process should not affect you at all, since English pages will lead you to other English pages only. English is also the default language when you enter the site for the first time, but once you choose Afrikaans however all pages you request afterwards that has been translated will be displayed in Afrikaans. If you bookmark an Afrikaans page the language preference will also be part of the bookmark. In the case where you choose Afrikaans as your viewing language, but then request a page that has not been translated yet you will automatically revert back to English until you request a page again where the word 'Afrikaans' in the top right corner is blue meaning the page is available in Afrikaans. Then you can switch back to Afrikaans again and so on.

Please note that we use the term 'English' very loosely. It does not mean that we use full British grammar and spelling. Its not uncommon in modern times to use a mixture from both British- and American English and label it as 'South African English' as long as you are consistent in your use. What this mean is that we might use 'colour' (British) instead of 'color' (American), but in the same sentence use 'initialize' (American) instead of 'initialise' (British). The only thing we try very hard to do is be consistent and therefore always use 'colour' and 'initialize', since both British- and American English seems to be correct in South Africa. There is of course never an excuse for just plain bad grammar and spelling, and again we do our best to check and recheck everything. Any comments or suggestions regarding our language views can be directed to our for immediate consideration.
